Philip Francis is Postdoctoral Fellow in the Humanitiesat the University of Pennsylvania's Humanities Forum and Assistant Professor ofReligious Studies at Manhattan College. His ethnographic work on religion inNorth America focuses on the shifting interrelationship of religion,aesthetics, and sexuality.His current project explores American evangelicalism'sshifting approach to LGBTQ issues, in part by focusing on the recent anddramatic rise of LGBTQ student groups at evangelical colleges that maintain anexplicit ban on "Homosexual Practice."
