Ali Noori is an intellectual historian of medieval Islam. He completed his PhD in Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania with a dissertation titled “Pious Praise Poetry: the Making of the Medieval Islamic Subject.”
In addition to teaching courses on Islam, he works as a consultant and translator on research projects, Digital Humanities programs, and museum exhibitions. He has developed and delivered workshops on inclusive and equitable pedagogy.
Ali received his Bachelor's in Philosophy and Near Eastern Intellectual History from the CUNY Baccalaureate program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. His thesis was titled: “Ibn Sīnā’s Adaptation of Aristotle’s Active Intellect: Paving the Way for Philosophical Sufism.”
