The summer after my sophomore year and into my junior year, I was able to integrate my interests in science and religious studies through independent research with Dr. Andrew Newberg. I reviewed the past and current literature on neurodegenerative diseases, aging, and how both interact with an individual’s religiosity and spirituality. Understanding these relationships may allow for individualized therapies, impacting the rate of disease progression.

A little bit about myself:

I am a rising senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Religious Studies and Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I hope to use my Religious Studies background to gain perspective as I pursue further studies in the field of medicine.
